Holding control

The Taiwan Biking Rules & Safety following are things you can do to maintain control of your bicycle, even in an emergency.

  1. Ensure your bicycle is the right size and properly adjusted to fit you.
  2. Please let us know your height and weight, we can help you to choose the correct size fit.
  3. A properly-fitted bicycle is more comfortable and easier to control.
  4. Right-hand control the rear brake and left-hand control the front brake. Brake checking needs tight or not is important.
  5. Right-hand control the rear shifting and left-hand control the front shifting. Shift checking needs smooth or not is important.
  6. Try to ride to check the weird sound happens or not.

Protect Yourself

We know no low to limit you wear a helmet in Taiwan Biking Rules, but we understand properly-fitted helmets provide protection from a potentially life-threatening head injury.

Be Visible and Alert

Even if you obey all traffic laws and Taiwan Biking Rules, there is always a risk of accident.

  1. Keep riding on the right, do not compete with the cars, and always keep a distance from the cars.
  2. Be prepared to take evasive action and knock your bell to alert relating to vehicles that have just passed you and may turn right.
  3. Use hand signals before making turns or changing lanes to warn traffic around you.
  4. Do not rush into the car array, do not show off on the road.
  5. When your children are riding please keep an eye on your children to avoid the danger.

Correct to use bicycle

Must follow the MathewBike's instructions and Taiwan Biking Rules also properly store your bicycle.

  1. Do not ride on muddy soil and sod, which causing mechanical failure accidents.
  2. Do not show off your biking stunts, which causing excessive tire wear and tear.
  3. Do not use the gear ratio overmuch (Biggest to Biggest, Small to Small), which causing wear and tear on the chain.
  4. Do not carry your luggage overloading, which causing wear and tear on wheels, frames, etc.
  5. Know the riding essentials, the braking essentials, the shifting essentials, road condition essentials.

RENTAL CONDITIONS

Use and care of Equipment

The Client acknowledges and agrees that they have inspected the Equipment, and that the Equipment is in good condition and suitable for the intended use. Follow Taiwan Biking Rules in every ride.

The safety of the Client and others
Late returns will be charged

The Client will take proper and reasonable care of the Equipment during the Hire Period, and will return it in good order and condition to MathewBike by 21:00 on the return date specified in the Contract, unless otherwise agreed by MathewBike. Late returns will be charged a daily hire rate until returned, unless prior arrangements have been made.

Competent to use the Equipment

The Client warrants that all persons who will use the Equipment are competent to use the Equipment, will use the Equipment in the manner it was designed to be used, will follow any directions from MathewBike relating to the use and safety of the Equipment, and will comply with all Taiwan Biking Rules of the laws and obligations in relation to the use and control of the Equipment.

No modifications to Equipment. 

 

 

 

The Client will not change or modify the Equipment

The Client will not change or modify the Equipment without MathewBike's agreement. If the Client changes or modifies the Equipment without MathewBike's agreement, such changes or modifications will be considered damage, and bear all the price.
Damage or loss

Responsible for any damage

The Client is solely responsible for any damage to, or loss of, the Equipment during the Hire Period. The Client will notify MathewBike immediately if the Equipment is damaged or lost, and will follow all reasonable instructions of MathewBike in relation to such damaged or lost Equipment.

In the case of damage

In the case of damage to the Equipment (excluding reasonable wear and tear, and any damage to inner tubes), however caused, the Client will be responsible for and will pay MathewBike for the full cost of all repairs, including the cost of replacing any damaged parts and any labor to restore the Equipment to the condition it was in at the commencement of the Hire Period. For the avoidance of doubt, MathewBike has the sole right to reasonably determine:
(a) whether the Equipment has been damaged during the Hire Period;
(b) whether such damage is beyond reasonable wear and tear;
(c) the extent of such damage;
(d) the full cost of the repairs required.

In the case of loss

In the case of loss of the Equipment, however caused, the Client will be responsible for and will pay MathewBike for the full cost to MathewBike of replacing such Equipment.

Lost revenue

The Client will be responsible for and will indemnify MathewBike for any loss of revenue suffered by MathewBike due to the unavailability of the Equipment for hire due to damage or loss. The costs for lost revenue will not exceed the equivalent of 7 days hire of the Equipment at the prevailing hire rates.

Payment Terms

  • Order the touring bike rental, you need to pay the deposit 1000 NTD for your reservation via PayPal or Cash or Bank transfer. The balance will pay off on the pick-up date.
  • Order "Cycling Tour" reservations you need to pay the deposit of 30% of the total amount via PayPal or Cash or Bank transfer. The balance will pay off on the pick-up date.
  • The client agrees to bear the fees and commodity taxes paid, must follow Taiwan Biking Rules in every rides.
  • We will require the client to provide copies or collateral of relevant documents, such as identity cards, and any deposit provided by the client shall be used to guarantee the faithful performance of all the terms of this agreement and all necessary repairs to equipment.
  • In consideration of regulating the rights and obligations between the parties to the contract, the client agrees to pay all legal fees, court fees or other costs in the event of legal disputes.

Cancellation and refund

  • The Client agrees that MathewBike has the right to define all cancellation principles.
  • After the "The touring bike rental" reservation, no change will be made due to change of mind or absence.
  • After booking a "Bike Tour", the cancellation can be refunded in full for more than 30 days from the start date, and will not be replaced if the start date is less than 30 days.
  • No refunds will be made for early returns, late pickups, no-shows or change of mind.
  • If the service becomes unavailable Before Hire Period due to circumstances beyond MathewBike' control (such as theft, fire, earthquake, or damage from an earlier hire contract), MathewBike will refund all the money in 14 days.
  • All applicable refunds will be released upon return of all rented equipment.

Termination of contract

The client agrees that MathewBike has the right to terminate this contract and re-own the above bike and equipment at any time. For the above purpose, MathewBike can report the case based on the personal documents provided by the Client during the contract. All losses and legal liabilities will be borne by client bear.

If the service becomes unavailable for the Hire Period due to circumstances beyond MathewBike' control (such as theft, fire, earthquake, or damage from an earlier hire contract), MathewBike will use its best efforts to offer the Client a suitable alternative. If MathewBike is unable to offer a suitable alternative, the Client will be entitled to some refund minus any costs MathewBike has incurred related to this booking.
